Property tax hike expected in Oakville

Oakville's 2025 budget process has begun with staff warning of rising costs. Property taxes are expected to increase by about four per cent to cover higher salaries, benefits, and operating expenses. The budget will also include funds for projects like the Sixteen Mile Community Centre, electric buses, and the downtown cultural hub. The Oakville Public Library is advised to limit its budget increase to 5.5 per cent, while staff will release a draft budget in October for public review before the final budget is considered in December.
